Ural Electronic Customs has completed an inquiry in a criminal case under paragraph d, part 2, article 194 of the Russian Criminal Code – evasion of customs payments.

Customs officers found that the head of a Yugra enterprise engaged in the harvesting and sale of timber compiled a fictitious foreign economic contract, in which he changed the terms of supply of timber to Uzbekistan. Thus, he underestimated the customs value of the timber shipment and, accordingly, the amount of customs payments. Under this scheme, the entrepreneur submitted 276 declarations for goods. The total amount of unpaid customs payments amounted to almost 7 million rubles

The accused admitted guilt and paid the amount due. In addition, the man made a charitable contribution to a social institution. In the near future the criminal case will be considered by the Verkh-Isetsky District Court of Yekaterinburg
