In the period from July 2023 to September 2023, the woman ordered weight loss products containing the potent substance “sibutramine” on the website of a Kazakhstani online store. The total weight of the substance amounted to 26.05 g. She ordered and paid for it through her relatives
The intra-union mail with the specified potent substance was received by the Kamensky post office, a branch of FSUE “Russian Post”, and after the expiration of the storage period, in connection with the refusal of receipt, was returned to the postal sorting center, from where it was seized by officers of the Saratov Customs.
The court verdict found the woman guilty of smuggling of potent substances into the territory of the Russian Federation (part 1 of article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Taking into account mitigating circumstances, the court sentenced the defendant to 3 years and 6 months of suspended imprisonment, with a probation period of 4 years and the imposition of obligations contributing to her correction
