In Bashkiria, customs officers have seized about 2,780 packs of unlabeled cigarettes since the beginning of 2024

The illegal goods were detected during joint raids of Bashkortostan Customs and the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Bashkortostan in retail outlets of the republic

“Employees of the department of control over importation and turnover of goods established the fact of sale of tobacco products, not marked with means of identification, without excise stamps of the Russian Federation, coming mainly from the Republic of Belarus and the United Arab Emirates. The country of origin of some goods could not be established,” said Deputy Head of Customs Alexander Pryashnikov

In 2023, Bashkortostan customs officers detected and seized from illegal circulation about 30 thousand packs of cigarettes without mandatory labeling, including about 3.5 thousand with signs of counterfeiting

Attention: from April 1, 2024 alcohol and tobacco products will be included in the list of strategically important goods, their import and sale will fall under the scope of Article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation
