A passenger on a Khujand-Yekaterinburg flight tried to import a batch of clothes into Russia without declaration. In the luggage of a citizen of Tajikistan, Koltsovsky customs officers found suits, robes, dresses, scarves, hair accessories, rings, bracelets and lamps. The two bags weighed a total of 60 kilograms

The man told customs officials that he had traveled to his homeland for a visit and decided to make some money. He bought the items in Tajikistan and wanted to resell them on the Ekaterinburg market. He did not know that commercial shipments had to be declared

Customs regulations are posted on the website of the Federal Customs Service of Russia and on information desks at the entrance to the customs control zone. The international terminal of Koltsovo Airport broadcasts audio and video information about the rules and procedures for moving goods across the customs border of the Eurasian Economic Union, and there is always an inspector standing nearby, ready to advise and help in filling out a passenger customs declaration,” said Sergey Borovik, head of the customs post of Koltsovo Airport (passenger).

The man’s goods were taken from the customs office at Koltsovo Airport (passenger)

The goods were seized from the man and sent for examination. The passenger faces a fine from half to twice the value of the goods.
