Straight from Thailand: Chelyabinsk customs officers found marijuana in the mail

330 grams of marijuana were found by operatives of the Chelyabinsk customs in cooperation with officers of the South Urals Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on Transport in an international mail shipment from the Kingdom of Thailand

In the course of operative-search measures it was established that a 35-year-old woman with no previous convictions was waiting for a parcel with a green-colored substance of plant origin from abroad. The expert examination established that the contents were cannabis (marijuana) and belonged to narcotic substances, its circulation is prohibited in the Russian Federation. According to the recipient of the box, the cannabis was purchased for personal use

Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the Chelyabinsk woman under Part 2 of Article 228 and Part 3 of Article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The woman faces imprisonment of up to 20 years. The goods have been seized. The investigation is underway
