Koltsovsky customs officers found about 4 kg of branded accessories and jewelry in the possession of a female passenger who arrived from the United States via the UAE. In total, 39 goods with a total value of over 11 million rubles.

A 39-year-old woman with two suitcases and bags weighing almost 80 kg caught the attention of inspectors in the “green” corridor. When inspecting the luggage, customs officers found gold earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings with various inserts, as well as watches, bags, belts and sunglasses from luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Celine, Chanel, Bottega Veneta, Valentino, Hermes

The passenger was found to have dual citizenship – registered in Chelyabinsk but permanently residing in the United States. The woman explained that she had flown to her relatives, purchased some valuables abroad for 10 thousand euros and did not know about the need to declare them

Expertise found that of all the goods, only new glasses and bags were illegally imported, their market value amounted to more than 2 million rubles.

“According to the customs rules of the new customs regulations, the woman was not allowed to declare them

“According to customs rules, newly acquired expensive jewelry, bracelets, watches and luxury accessories  worth more than 10,000 euros should be declared, with further payment of customs duties. However, the traveler did not do so. On the fact of non-declaration of goods, Koltsovsk customs initiated an administrative case. At the same time, the woman could move the branded jewelry across the border without declaring it, as it was recognized as second-hand,” said the head of the customs post of Koltsovo Airport (passenger), Sergei Borovik

After paying a fine of half the value of the offense items, the woman was returned the fashion accessories
