About 1 ton of undeclared paint and varnish materials were detected by Rostov customs officers in the port of Azov

In the course of joint control on a motor ship departing to Turkey from the port of Azov, officers of Rostov Customs and the Border Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Rostov region revealed a batch of undeclared goods. About 1 ton of paint and varnish materials were found on board the ship, the information about which was not declared at the departure of the vessel

The head of the customs post Azov Sea Port of Rostov Customs Viktor Kirdeev explained: “According to the results of customs control in respect of the carrier and the captain of the ship initiated cases of administrative offenses under part 1 of article 16.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation “Failure to declare in the prescribed form of goods subject to customs declaration. Officials are liable to a fine from 10,000 to 20,000 rubles, legal entities – from one second to two times the value of the goods (with or without confiscation). At present, the goods that are the subject of the offense have been seized, and samples of the goods have been sent for examination to determine the market value.”
