Astrakhan customs officers checked the first 8 containers of vitamin cargo from Iran (6 – oranges and 2 – mandarins) at the Astrakhan customs post of Astrakhan customs. The largest shipment of citrus fruits for the last two years, weighing more than 180 tons, for the first time arrived in Russia directly by sea transport via the North-South ITC, earlier deliveries were carried out by rail and road transport through Azerbaijan

The Iranian fruit was imported to Russia by a Moscow-based company. Special refrigerated containers are used to move perishable goods, which maintain the necessary temperature regime

The cargo was checked using a mobile inspection and screening complex in the shortest possible time. It takes an average of 18 minutes to scan and analyze an X-ray image of the goods located in the cargo hold of one container. The goods were placed in a temporary storage warehouse in Astrakhan.
