10 million tons of cargo passed customs control at the port of Rostov-on-Don in 2023

In 2023, customs officials of the Rostov-on-Don River Port customs post of Rostov-on-Don Rostov Customs cleared more than 4,500 vessels. Cargo turnover at the port was about 10 million tons

The volume of exports passing through the customs post remained practically unchanged. The nomenclature of exported goods remained unchanged: agricultural products and processed products, products of oil refining, coal, metallurgical and chemical industries

“Officials of the post regularly identify violations of customs legislation. In 2023, the customs post initiated more than 70 cases of administrative offenses. The most common violation is non-declaration of spare parts. Also, customs officers regularly identify undeclared fuel, tobacco products, currency, which crew members try to smuggle into Russia. The value of the detected undeclared goods amounted to about 20 million rubles,” said Oleg Bessarab, head of the customs post of the River Port of Rostov-on-Don
