Omsk Airport customs officers seized more than 4.5 kilograms of nasvay tobacco products from air passengers arriving from Central Asia in just one day

Customs officers initiated 5 administrative cases on the facts of transportation of this product. The offenders packed the chewing tobacco mixture in bags and bundles, which were detected by a service dog named Wart during customs control of foreign flights

“Since the beginning of the year, our employees have detected more than 56 kilograms of nasvay mixture,” said Alexey Sviridenko, head of the Omsk Airport customs post. – This is 2.5 times more than in the same period last year

A total of 45 cases of administrative offenses have been initiated by Omsk customs officers on the facts of illegal movement of nasvay across the border since the beginning of 2024. All illegal non-smoking tobacco mixture has been seized

Reminder, the norms of importation into the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union of tobacco, tobacco products, products containing tobacco, nicotine and intended for inhalation by heating or other means (without combustion) are as follows:

200 cigarettes or 50 cigarettes, 50 cigarettes or 50 cigarettes, 50 cigarettes or 50 cigarettes (without combustion)

200 cigarettes, or 50 cigars (cigarillos), or 200 products with heated tobacco (“sticks”), or 250 g. of tobacco, or products in the assortment with a total weight of not more than 250 g. per one person who has reached the age of 18 years.

Sales of tobacco products, tobacco products, and products containing tobacco, nicotine and intended for inhalation by heating or other means (without burning) are not allowed

The sale of smokeless tobacco products “nasvay” is prohibited in Russia under the Federal Law “On Protection of Public Health from the Effects of Ambient Tobacco Smoke and the Consequences of Tobacco Consumption”
