Altai customs officer turned down $1,000 bribe

Officers of the Altai Customs anti-corruption department detained bribe-givers who tried to smuggle a car without the necessary clearance.
The bribe was offered to an employee of the Tashantinsk customs post by two foreign citizens for importing a car from Mongolia, owned by one of the men, without proper customs control
The perpetrators personally handed the customs officer a bribe of US$1,000, after which they were detained by officers of the Altai Customs Anti-Corruption Department.
The bribe was paid in the amount of US$1,000
A criminal case was initiated against the bribe-givers by Ulagan Interdistrict Investigative Department of the Investigative Department on Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation on the grounds of a crime under para. “a” part 4 of article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (giving a bribe to an official by a group of persons by prior conspiracy for knowingly illegal actions in favor of the bribe-giver)
