Kingisepp customs officials did not allow an Estonian resident to smuggle 200 models of human embryos into Russia.

The stateless woman, who permanently resides in the neighboring country, crossed the Russian-Estonian border on foot. She told customs officers at the Ivangorod customs checkpoint that she had no goods subject to customs declaration

But inspectors found an unusual cargo in her suitcase – two transparent plastic bags containing 100 pieces of pink plastic products in the shape of a human embryo. The labels were labeled in German with the words “not a toy!”. The products themselves, judging by the labeling, were produced in the German city of Estringen

The offender explained that she was moving the goods at the request of third parties.

Customs officials recognized the shipment as commercial

–  Because this batch of goods is not goods for personal use and was not properly declared customs officials decided to initiate a case of administrative offense under part 1 of article 16.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, explained Evgeny Skoryukov, acting head of the customs post Ivangorod of the Kingisepp customs office.
