Illegal drinks worth 20 million rubles seized by North Caucasus customs officers

218,000 bottles with banned drinks and 16 tons of base for their production were identified by customs officers in the North Caucasus in 2023. The total estimated value on the Russian market is about
20 million rubles

80% of illegal products were seized from circulation by Mineralovodskaya customs: mainly in the territory of Kabardino-Balkaria and Stavropol Krai. Another 20% of illegal goods were detected as a result of the work of mobile teams and customs officers’ inspections of retail outlets in North Ossetia and Dagestan

The counterfeit products included names of well-known brands of carbonated mineral water and sweet soft drinks

All the illegal goods were seized. Cases on administrative offenses were initiated against the offenders, the grounds for which were: reporting to the customs authority false information, lack of labeling and signs of counterfeit.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Foodstuffs of the Republic of Kazakhstan is responsible for the seizure of the illegal goods
