On the Russian-Georgian border, North Ossetian customs officers detained a female passenger who tried to smuggle undeclared earrings and watches worth more than 1 million rubles into Russia.

Inspectors stopped a 48-year-old Russian citizen who was crossing the border in a passenger car driven by a citizen of Georgia. During the inspection, customs officers found jewelry among her personal belongings: earrings “Cartier” collection “JUSTR UN CLOU” and wristwatch “ROLEX” model “DATEJUST”. The woman told customs officers that she was carrying the jewelry for personal use. Experts found that the earrings and watch were brand new, without signs of use, and also confirmed the authenticity of the items

A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (smuggling of strategically important goods)
