Two coins, a samovar and 24 books were handed over by Pskov customs officers to the Ministry of Culture

Samovar, two ancient coins and 24 books XIX – early XX century editions were handed over by Pskov customs officers for further disposal to the Russian Ministry of Culture’s Department for the Northwestern Federal District.

Goods labeled as cultural property can be exported abroad only with the permission of the Ministry of Culture

The citizens tried to export books, coins and samovar through multilateral road checkpoints Burachki, Ubylinka and Shumilkino. Individuals did not declare the goods and did not have authorization documents for their export from Russia. The citizens were found guilty of committing offenses under Part 1 of Article 16.2 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation (failure to declare goods subject to customs declaration in the prescribed form)

Experts confirmed the cultural value of the coins, printed publications and samovar. According to the decision of the court, the coins of the XIX century, a fire samovar, books “Rules and norms for electrical devices of strong currents”, three volumes of the complete collection of works by V.V. Veresaev, 10 books. Veresaev, 10 books from the collection of British authors and other printed editions were turned into the property of the state and handed over for disposal to the Department of the Ministry of Culture of Russia for the North-West Federal District
