More than 8 thousand counterfeits have been detected by customs officers in Priangarie stores

Since the beginning of 2023, Irkutsk customs officers have revealed more than 8 thousand units of counterfeit goods, almost 400 kg of sanctioned products, more than 6 thousand packs of unlabeled cigarettes.
Customs officers seized illegal products from circulation in retail outlets in Irkutsk and Irkutsk region together with law enforcement and supervisory authorities within the framework of control over import and circulation of goods in the domestic market.
Thus, among the counterfeit products illegally labeled with trademarks, the most common were clothes and footwear, food products, tobacco products. According to the information sent by the Irkutsk Customs on the facts of counterfeit goods sale, the law enforcement authorities initiated 3 criminal cases and 42 cases of administrative offenses.
In addition, according to the results of control measures Irkutsk customs officers revealed 380 kg of «sanctioned» cheese of various names from Holland, Spain, Poland, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, prohibited for importation into the territory of the Russian Federation.
Illegal cigarettes of European, Belarusian and Russian production without excise stamps and mandatory labeling were found by the Irkutsk customs officers in «tobacco kiosks» Angarsk.
«Unlabeled goods may turn out to be unsafe for consumers. For selling products from the list of mandatory labeling without a code, an official and a business face a fine and confiscation of goods. There is a unified national system of digital labeling and traceability of goods «Honest Mark», the purpose of which is to reduce the spread of all kinds of illegal products: counterfeit, counterfeit, smuggling» – said Nadezhda Nedorezova, Deputy Head of Irkutsk Customs – Head of Service.
