In Nizhny Novgorod customs officers honored the memory of soldiers-internationalists

February 15 – the Day of memory of soldiers-internationalists, who performed his duty outside the borders of their homeland.

On this day, 31 years ago, the last convoy of Soviet troops left Afghanistan. The Afghan war has lasted nearly ten years, becoming the longest in the 20th century and claimed the lives of over 15 thousand Soviet citizens.

Traditionally, the officials of the Volga customs Department, Nizhniy Novgorod, Privolzhsky electronic and Privolzhsky operative customs once again met to honor the memory of all those who gave their lives in the struggle for peace. Flowers and memorial wreaths were laid at the monument to Soldiers-internationalists, dedicated to the citizens, victims of local conflicts.
