Mineralovodsk customs officers detained 9 new Toyota, Mercedes and Lexus cars transported in violation near the village of Ulyanovka (Stavropol Territory). The value of the shipment is estimated at 200 million rubles
Customs officers found that the vehicles were imported from Georgia through Verkhny Lars, where they were placed under the customs transit procedure with a destination of Kyrgyzstan. However, after crossing the border without the permission of the customs authority, the vehicles were loaded onto car carriers and put under the control of drivers not specified in the documents. It was found that the luxury cars were actually being sent to Moscow for subsequent resale
In respect of 5 declarants who violated the customs transit procedure, Mineralovodskaya customs initiated 9 cases on administrative offenses under part 1 of article 16.9 of the CAO RF and 9 cases under part 2 of article 16.13 of the CAO RF
