When recalculating cash, it turned out that the citizen plans to take out of Russia the amount exceeding the equivalent of 10 thousand U.S. dollars. At the exchange rate of the Central Bank of Russia, 3,000 dollars and 575,000 rubles turned out to be the subject of the offense. The man did not know that cash had to be declared

According to customs regulations, cash exceeding the equivalent of 10 thousand dollars must be declared. The passenger had to go to the “red” corridor and reflect the amount of cash in the passenger customs declaration. Before entering the customs control zone there is an experienced inspector who will tell about the norms and requirements of the customs legislation and, if necessary, will advise on the procedure of filling in the passenger customs declaration”, – said the head of the customs post of Roshchino Airport Alexander Khmelev

The inspectors initiated a case of administrative offense under Article 16.4 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation on the fact of non-declaration of cash. Undeclared currency was seized, and 10 thousand U.S. dollars were returned to the citizen against a receipt. The case materials were sent to the court, which will determine the amount of the fine
