Bashkortostan customs: in 2023, residents of the republic began to fly abroad almost twice as often

In 2023, the air border of the Eurasian Economic Union at the customs post Ufa Airport Bashkortostan customs crossed about 616 thousand passengers, which is 40% more than last year, processed more than 3900 aircraft – it is 45% more than in 2022.
«The growth in passenger traffic is due to the emergence of a new destination to Samarkand (Uzbekistan), as well as newly resumed flights to Thailand and Egypt. The increased frequency of flights from Ufa International Airport «Ufa» to Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Egypt» has also played its role in the statistics, − explained Aidar Biktimerov, the head of the customs post of Ufa Airport.
In the current  year at the customs post Ufa Airport was initiated 657 cases of administrative offenses (in 2022 – 534). Of them 83 – concerning the illegal movement of money; 149 – exceeding the norms of import of alcoholic beverages, 20 – in relation to objects falling under the CITES Convention (import of corals), 6 – cultural values (export of coins, icons, medals).
