The Astrakhan customs officers revealed more than 170 thousand packs of illegal cigarettes in Volzhsky

Officials of the Department to control the importation and trafficking of goods from customs control after release of goods of the Astrakhan customs together with GU MVD of Russia for the Volgograd region carried out the customs inspection of warehouse premises in Volzhsky.

In one of the premises, the customs officers found a large quantity of cartons of cigarettes illegally moved across the customs border of the Eurasian economic Union. The total number of detected illegal goods amounted to 170 790 packs, weight – more than 3.8 tons, estimated cost of more than 8.5 million rubles.

Most cigarettes (104 340 packs) according to the information on the packaging produced in Russia and marked with excise stamps of the Russian Federation with signs of forgery, the rest are not marked with excise stamps and according to the bar codes and packaging were produced in Hong Kong, UAE, Romania, Italy, India, Switzerland and Belarus.

All identified products are removed. GU MVD of Russia in Volgograd region initiated a criminal case under part 3 of article 327.1 of the criminal code (production, sale of counterfeit excise stamps). Considered a question on excitation of criminal case under article 171.1 of the criminal code (possession and sale of tobacco products, not marked with excise stamps).
