Officers of the mobile group of Samara customs in cooperation with the Border Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Orenburg region prevented the illegal export of a live crocodile to Kazakhstan

Customs officers checked a light-tonnage truck at the Orsk checkpoint. Among other things in the back, inspectors found a wooden box with a live crocodile. The reptile is 1.8 meters long

The vehicle was driven by a resident of Rostov region. He did not have the authorization documents necessary for exporting the animal abroad, but had a veterinary passport filled out with irregularities

According to the document, the crocodile’s name is Bax. The man acquired it in 2009

Operative measures are currently underway to establish all the circumstances of the case under Article 16.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (failure to comply with prohibitions and restrictions on the export of goods). In addition, the Department of Rosselkhoznadzor for the Orenburg region brought the driver to administrative responsibility under part 2 of article 10.8 of the CAO RF for illegal transportation of an animal

The crocodile will be transferred to a specialized organization for further determination of its temporary location.
