Officers of the Irkutsk Airport customs post of the Irkutsk customs office brought 66 citizens to responsibility for moving undeclared and restricted tobacco products in the 1st quarter of 2024
The largest detentions by customs officers were 4.5 kilograms of nasvay and 800 cigarettes that foreign air passengers tried to smuggle in their luggage.
A total of 68 kilograms of smokeless tobacco mixture “nasvay” and 3,500 cigarettes, mostly of Chinese origin, were seized during customs control of the luggage of passengers arriving in Irkutsk from abroad
According to the results of expert examinations, 53 cases on administrative offenses related to the illegal importation of “nasvay” under part 1 of article 16.2 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation were initiated.
Also, 26 cases on administrative offenses were initiated on the facts of illegal movement of cigarettes by air passengers over the established norm.

“Nasvay” and cigarettes were confiscated by court decision, and administrative fines were imposed on the offenders.

“Every citizen who has reached the age of 18 years old can import 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars, or 250 grams of tobacco, or these products in the assortment with a total weight of no more than 250 grams per person for personal purposes into the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union,” explained Igor Koryakin, head of the customs post of Irkutsk Airport of Irkutsk Customs
