Tatarstan customs: results of the canine service

Tatarstan Customs has five service dogs on duty, one of which bears the proud title of “Best Service Dog of the Federal Customs Service of Russia”. The dogs are trained to search for money bills, narcotics, tobacco and tobacco products, explosives, weapons and ammunition

Dogs and their handlers went on 1,798 missions in 2023, during which they checked 44,239 pieces of luggage, 185,258 pieces of carry-on luggage, inspected 1,417,499 international mail items and  6 railroad cars.

Dogs and their handlers are trained to search for money bills, tobacco and tobacco products,  explosives and ammunition.

Dog Nose detected 4 cases of moving potent substances in international parcels, 86 cases of illegal movement of money and 47 cases of exceeding import standards for  tobacco products at Kazan International Airport.
