This date is associated with the emergence of the Soviet customs. Over a hundred years ago — may 29, 1918 the Council of people’s Commissars of the USSR issued a decree regulating the activities of customs agencies.

Every year on 29 may, Russia celebrates the Day of veterans of customs service. This holiday was established by the decision of the “Russian Union of veterans of customs service” 10 June 1999. In 2020, it is celebrated the 21st time. This day is dedicated to the veterans who valiantly carried out their duties in the public service. Before the collapse of the Soviet Union it was celebrated as the Day of the Soviet customs officer.

This year the holiday is celebrated in a different format. But officials of the Vyborg customs was paid to each veteran of the attention, while respecting the rules of sanitary behavior.

To your feast all the veterans received sincere congratulations and sincere gratitude for the hard work, love of the profession, continuing support and expertise that they so generously share with younger colleagues.
