Tyumen customs officers detained a 48-year-old resident of the city of Labytnangi. The Yamal resident was leaving the post office building with a parcel from China. When opening the cardboard box, the operatives found a polymer bag with a powdery, crystalline substance of white color. An expert confirmed that the contents were the potent substance pregabalin weighing one kilogram

The seizure was carried out jointly with officers of the Novo-Urengoy line department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on transport, to whom all the materials collected by customs were handed over for investigation. A case was opened against the man under Part 1 of Article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (smuggling of potent substances)

Passengers arriving from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey tried to carry capsules and pills containing potent substances in their luggage,” said Grigory Ksenofontov, Acting Deputy Head of Tyumen Customs

Ten cases on administrative violations were initiated against the violators in Roshchino for non-declaration and non-compliance with the established prohibitions and restrictions on the import of potent substances. The customs initiated 6 criminal cases under article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (smuggling of potent substances) and article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (smuggling of narcotic drugs) for part of the facts revealed in IGO, and the rest of the materials were transferred under investigation to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia
