Fifty thousand pairs of undeclared shoes were detained by Chelyabinsk customs officers on the Russian-Kazakh border. According to the shipping documents, the truck was traveling from the Republic of Kazakhstan to Moscow. During customs inspection inspectors counted 940 pairs of children’s and men’s shoes made in China and more than 500 pairs without indication of the country of origin. The carrier had no documents confirming the customs declaration of goods on the territory of the EAEU for the transported products worth more than 600 thousand rubles

When checking the documents and information, the entrepreneurs did not confirm the legality of importing the goods and did not declare and pay customs duties.

“The illegal cargo was seized. The customs officers appealed to the court to recognize the shoe shipment as ownerless and turn it into federal property,” said Stanislav Vasyov, deputy head of the Chelyabinsk customs office
