50 French centimes issued more than 100 years ago were handed over by customs officials to the Russian Ministry of Culture’s Directorate for the Volga and Urals Federal Districts. The collector’s item was found in the luggage of a passenger flying to Azerbaijan from Tyumen. She was traveling through the “green corridor” and planned to export the coin as a gift

Customs experts confirmed the coin was made in 1922 by minting method. Cast from aluminum bronze “50 CENTIMES” belong to the category of cultural property and are prohibited for export from the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union. Two cases on administrative offenses were initiated on this fact. The court decided to confiscate the goods, and the offender was fined

The Tyumen customs officers organized the transfer of the cultural property turned into the property of the state. In the future, the Ministry of Culture of Russia will make a decision to transfer the numismatic object to the funds of a particular state or municipal museum for permanent storage
