The Taganrog customs officers have revealed potent substances
In January 2020 the staff of the Taganrog customs brought criminal case on signs of the crime provided by part 1 of article 226.1 of the criminal code of Russian Federation “Contraband of potent, toxic, poisonous, explosive, radioactive substances” in connection with the fact of illicit movement through border of the Customs Union within the EurAsEC potent substances.
Earlier, in December 2019, during carrying out quickly-search actions the staff of Department of fight against a drug trafficking of the Taganrog customs identified a shipment of drugs intended for weight loss, which the citizen of the Russian Federation, the inhabitant of Taganrog, born in 1998, tried to move illegally to the territory of Russia.
In seven packages, the customs officers found approximately 2,500 multicolored capsules and tablets of white colour-coated glazing. As shown by further study of all these preparations contain a potent substance “Sibutramine”, included in “Lists of potent and toxic substances for the purposes of article 234 and other articles of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation” and is related to potent substances. The total mass of potent substances in the submitted samples was 113,12 grams.
The act envisaged by part 1 of article 226.1 of the criminal code, is punishable by deprivation of liberty for a term of three to seven years with a fine in the amount up to one million rubles or the salary or other income for a period of up to five years or without such and with restriction of liberty for a term up to one year or without such.
