A bottle of hashish oil containing more than 29 g of narcotic drug was found by Astrakhan customs officers in a parcel from Thailand. At the capital’s Sheremetyevo airport in the sorting zone of the Russian Post, an international mail item attracted the attention of Central Post and Sheremetyevo customs officers. While receiving the international item in Volgograd, the man was stopped by Astrakhan customs officers

The customs officers found a black plastic vial with a brown oily liquid among incense, tea leaves and hygiene products. The examination confirmed that the substance weighing more than 29 grams of hashish oil is a narcotic drug – tetrahydracannabinol, trafficking and importation of which is prohibited in the Russian Federation. For this substance, a mass of more than 0.25 grams is considered a large size

The recipient explained that the parcel was sent to him by a relative to give to another person. He did not know what was inside

The drugs were seized. Astrakhan customs initiated a criminal case under part 3 of article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (large-scale smuggling of narcotic drugs). Further investigative actions are being carried out

BACKGROUND.
