STU held a consultative council with participants of foreign economic activity

The head of the Siberian Customs Directorate, Alexander Yastrebov, held a meeting of the advisory council on interaction with participants of foreign economic activity at the STU. More than 150 representatives of public organizations and business unions, large industrial enterprises, entrepreneurs, STU and customs authorities took part in the meeting via video link

One of the key topics on the agenda of the event was the introduction of customer-centricity principles into the work of customs authorities, which should ensure simplicity, convenience, speed and cost-effectiveness of interaction between customs authorities and foreign trade participants and individuals on the basis of feedback

“Within the framework of openness and client-centered approach, the Siberian Customs Directorate today is in direct communication with business in a variety of formats,” said Alexander Yastrebov. – These include “hotlines” operating in customs houses and STU apparatus, webinars on topical issues, and participation in major events with participants of foreign economic activity, authorities, various business unions, regional chambers of commerce and industry and export support centers. Such information support for business will remain an important priority of our work in 2024

At the meeting of the advisory council, the experts of the STU also made presentations on the practice of control of goods exported to the EAEU countries under the conditions of special economic measures, on the latest changes in customs legislation in terms of confirming the origin of goods, the advantages of receiving the state service for issuing preliminary decisions on the classification of goods, the possibilities of interaction between participants of foreign economic activity with customs authorities in the framework of proceedings on administrative offenses in electronic form

Representatives of the Irkutsk Customs, the Ministry of Economic Development and Industry of the Irkutsk Region and JSC “Russian Export Center” in Irkutsk shared information about the project “Export Landing”. The goal of the project is to bring experts from various fields to the region’s territories to involve new companies in export activities, to provide the region’s enterprises with consulting and methodological support on the issues of production development, export and investment

In the course of the meeting, STU experts answered all questions received from the members of the advisory council
