Officers of the DAPP Khandagaity customs post of Krasnoyarsk customs revealed two facts of illegal export of derivatives to Mongolia.

A 44-year-old Russian woman tried to export an owl’s paw without any documents, and a 35-year-old Russian citizen tried to export a bear’s paw

The illegal goods were detected with the participation of officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Republic of Tyva

A later expert examination attributed the found derivatives to parts of specially protected animals included in the CITES list. To export them, a passenger customs declaration must be submitted to the customs authority and authorization documents must be presented.

An expert examination later determined that the derivatives found were parts of specially protected animals included in the CITES list

The cases on administrative offenses under part 1 of article 16.2 of the CAO RF (non-declaration) and article 16.3 of the CAO RF (non-compliance with prohibitions and restrictions) were initiated against the man and the woman. The paws of the owl and the bear have been seized and the court will make a decision on them
