Customs officers detected illegal products in a retail outlet in Usolie-Sibirskoye together with law enforcement agencies as part of control over import and turnover of goods in the domestic market

The facts of illegal storage and sale of 5586 packs of tobacco products (cigarettes) of foreign and Russian production of various names were revealed. The cigarettes were not labeled with mandatory Data Matrix codes, some of the cigarettes did not have excise stamps, some of the packs had excise stamps with signs of forgery, which is a violation of Russian legislation

The unlabeled cigarettes were seized by representatives of the internal affairs authorities for procedural decisions

The labeling of goods confirms that the products have passed all conformity assessment procedures and meet the technical regulations of the EAEU. Using the Honest Mark mobile app, customers can scan the DataMatrix code and read detailed information about the products.

It should be noted that since the beginning of 2024, Irkutsk customs officers have identified more than 6,400 packs of unlabeled tobacco products in the domestic market of the region.
