The illegal import of tobacco products and alcoholic beverages was stopped by Murmansk customs officers. 48 blocks of cigarettes and 28 liters of strong and weak alcohol were found on board a foreign vessel during customs control.

The tobacco and alcohol products of various names were located in the engine room, in places not intended for storage of such goods. In addition, the goods found by the customs inspector were not declared in the notification of arrival of goods to the customs territory of the EAEU and in the ship’s documents. From the explanations of the administration of the foreign vessel it turned out that all the detected tobacco and alcohol products belonged to a legal entity

Murmansk customs initiated a case of administrative offense under Part 3, Article 16.1 of the CAO RF (reporting to the customs authority false information about the number of cargo places, their labeling, the name, when arriving on the customs territory of the EEU by providing invalid documents). As part of the procedural actions to investigate this incident, an expert examination has been appointed.
