Mineralovodsk customs officers stopped the smuggling of a narcotic drug from Germany

Two criminal cases have been opened against a Pyatigorsk resident for smuggling and possession of narcotic drugs

Two polymer packages of blue color with powdery substance were found in one of the offices of “Russian Post” by officials of Mineralovodsk customs together with officers of the Department of Criminal Investigation of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Stavropol Krai. The operatives detained a 40-year-old man at the moment of receipt of an IGO from Germany. The examination showed that the parcel contained 4.22 grams of the drug dimethyltryptamine (DMT). This psychedelic, which influences human consciousness and brain through hormones and neurotransmitters, is included in List I of the List of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their overdoses, subject to control in the Russian Federation and classified as narcotic drugs

Afterward, about 30 g of dimethyltryptamine and 10 g of psychedelic 2C-B hidden in a thermos were found and seized in the home of the recipient of the parcel.

The man had ordered the prohibited substances for personal consumption. The citizen knew about the criminal liability for smuggling and possession of narcotic drugs, but deliberately committed the crime

Criminal proceedings were initiated against the man under part 3 of article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (smuggling of narcotic drugs on a large scale) and part 2 of article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal possession of narcotic drugs). The investigation is ongoing
