The offender was stopped by inspectors on the «green» corridor. the 51-year-old Russian citizen independently presented cash wrapped in a paper bag for inspection, explaining that he did not want to waste time filling out the declaration.

Currently, a criminal case has been opened under part 1 of article 200.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (smuggling of cash on a large scale). The sanction of this article provides for a fine of three to ten times the amount of illegally moved cash or restriction of freedom for up to 2 years.
