In Sochi hosted the first meeting of representatives of customs services of Russia and Turkey

15-16 January 2020 in Sochi was held the 1st meeting of the Russian-Turkish Working group on cooperation in the field of risk management.

The meeting was chaired by first Deputy chief of Management of customs risks control of the FCS of Russia Valery Byshovets and Deputy chief of risk management Department of the customs service of Turkey Ali Toksoz.

V. A. Byshovets: “We attach great importance to this meeting. We regard it as the Foundation for building long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of risk management. The risk management system is the basis of customs control. And, of course, our cooperation in the areas of risk can contribute, on the one hand, the identification of risks of movement of goods in violation of the law, and on the other to facilitate the work of fair business.”

The main purpose of the meeting is to determine the format and directions of further interaction in which both parties are interested. In 2019 in terms of value imports from Turkey of goods to Russia grew by 11% and amounted to more than $ 3 billion. USA.

During the meeting the sides also discussed issues of exchange of information about participants of foreign economic activity, related to high and low levels of risk of certain types of goods of greatest interest for each party, the risk areas and specific risk projects, reviewed proposals for the exchange of experience in the field of analysis and risk management.

The parties decided to continue cooperation and to consider the possibility to establish an information exchange between the customs services of the States, which will allow faster customs clearance and more efficient to carry out customs control of imported goods.

Following the meeting signed a Protocol, which is aimed at strengthening and improving cooperation between Russian and Turkish customs services.
