The FCS of Russia informs of the decision of the Government of Finland to suspend indefinitely the operation of maritime border crossing points with Russia from April 15, 2024

Travel along the Saimaa Canal through Nuijamaa will be suspended for recreational vessels. Also, the Haapasaari and Santio sea crossing points will be closed indefinitely

In addition, earlier the Finnish side decided to extend the complete closure of all land border crossing points on the Russian-Finnish border (Imatra, Kuusamo, Niirala, Nuijamaa, Raija-Josepi, Salla, Vaalimaa and Vartius) until a special order.
