A resident of the free port of Vladivostok will build Kamchatka’s first rebar plant using the free customs zone procedure.

An additional customs control zone for the application of the free customs zone procedure has been created in Kamchatka. In the near future this procedure will be applied by LLC “Kamchatka Armature Plant”. The company is implementing an investment project to build the first plant in the Kamchatka region to produce hot-rolled steel rebar from scrap metal with a production volume of 7,500 tons per year

The first batch of goods placed under this customs procedure was imported by the resident in April 2024

Alyona Gureeva, head of the customs post of the Sea Port of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Sakhalin Customs, said that this investment project is important for the region, as it provides an opportunity to meet the needs of the construction industry of the peninsula. Application of the free customs zone procedure will allow the resident not to pay customs duties and taxes for imported goods. However, the company must use them only on a site specially equipped and arranged for this purpose.
