4.2 thousand counterfeit clothing items seized by customs officers at a Novosibirsk retail outlet

Officers of Novosibirsk Customs revealed the sale of clothing and hats with signs of counterfeit goods in a shopping mall in Novosibirsk.

The counterfeit goods were detected in the framework of control over import and turnover of goods on the domestic market together with the FSSB of Russia in the Novosibirsk region and police officers. Clothing and hats marked with the logos of well-known brands were sold in a trade pavilion with signs of artisanal production. The sellers had no documents authorizing the use of the trademark

The illegally sold clothing and hats in the amount of 4.2 thousand units were seized and sent for examination, the results of which will be taken a procedural decision.

In Q1 2024, Novosibirsk customs officers identified more than 4.6 thousand counterfeit goods in the city’s retail outlets. The most frequently detected counterfeit clothes, shoes, hats and underwear. Based on the materials of the inspections, the controlling authorities initiated 5 criminal cases under Article 180 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal use of means of individualization of goods)

In 2023, customs officers seized 11.2 thousand units of counterfeit goods from the Novosibirsk Region’s domestic market.
