A customs officer in Blagoveshchensk refused a bribe and reported inducing him to commit a crime. The bribe-giver was caught red-handed by officers of the Khabarovsk Customs Anti-Corruption Department and the Russian Federal Security Service’s Amur Region Department.

A man gave a bribe of one hundred thousand rubles to an employee of the Blagoveshchensk customs post in one of the parking lots in Blagoveshchensk. In this way he wanted to gain the general patronage of the customs inspector and speed up the process of processing consumer goods (cosmetics, foodstuffs) he was exporting from Russia abroad

But as a result of joint actions carried out by officers of the Khabarovsk Customs Anti-Corruption Department and the FSSB of Russia for the Amur Region, the citizen was detained at the moment of handing over the money, as the customs officer had informed him in advance about the illegal offer

A criminal case under part 3 of article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (bribery) was initiated against the bribe-giver by the investigative department for the city of Blagoveshchensk of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Amur Region
