Russians will answer before the law for drug smuggling

Samara customs officers detained the citizen of the Russian Federation born in 1980, involved in the smuggling of narcotic drugs in large size.

In March 2020 from France to Samara has received international postal item (hereinafter IGOS) in the name of the citizen of the Russian Federation. During carrying out quickly-search actions the parcel after delivery withdrawn by employees of the Samara customs, its content was aimed at the study. In accordance with the expert opinion, the goods were in MPO, in its composition contained the narcotic drug methadone weight of 9.13 g.

Samara customs in respect of the citizen of the Russian Federation initiated a criminal case under part 3 of the article 229.1 of the criminal code for the illegal movement across the customs border of the Customs Union within the EAEC narcotic drugs on a large scale. Liability under this article provides imprisonment for the term from ten up to twenty years with a fine in the amount up to one million rubles or the salary or other income condemned for the period till five years or without such and with restriction of liberty for a term up to two years or without such deprivation.

At present investigative actions are carried out.
