Officers of the customs post of Roshchino Airport have prevented the smuggling of large-scale cash. A passenger flying from Tyumen to Tashkent tried to take out 3,395,800 rubles in a bag with documents

The man entered the “green” corridor of the international sector of the airport, where he was stopped for inspection by customs officers. When the inspector asked him if he had any cash on him, he affirmatively stated that he was carrying cash. When recalculating the currency, it turned out that the citizen was carrying 4 times more than the equivalent of 10 thousand dollars allowed to be taken out of Russia without the mandatory customs declaration

The Tyumen Customs initiated a criminal case under part 1 of article 200.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (large-scale cash smuggling)

According to the investigation, before making the trip, the citizen consulted the customs office, where he was explained in advance the rules of exporting cash and told about the need to declare it. However, the man did not fulfill this obligation, and during the trial he did not admit his guilt

The court found the man guilty and sentenced him to 6 months of restricted freedom with a fine of 2,653,723 rubles. 742,077 rubles or 10,000 U.S. dollars in equivalent, i.e. the amount allowed to move on the date of the crime, was returned to the man
