Koltsovsky customs officers stopped a passenger on a Sharjah-Yekaterinburg flight in the “green” corridor. The 29-year-old man had more than 2 thousand sticks for tobacco heating systems in his luggage. The Yekaterinburg resident told the inspectors that he bought 11 blocks for 400 dollars in duty-free on the flight out of the UAE. He was unaware of the customs rules

The illegal movement of such sticks for tobacco heating systems is one of the most common violations. Passengers both take such goods out of Russia and import them from other countries. However, they forget that one adult passenger can move no more than 200 cigarettes or sticks, or no more than 50 cigars, or up to 250 grams of tobacco. These norms apply to all goods, the place of their purchase – duty-free stores or retail outlets – does not matter,” said Sergey Borovik, head of the customs post of Koltsovo Airport (passenger)

Customs officers seized the stickers. They will be kept until the court decision.
