A rise in the number of attempts to illegally export cash has been recorded by Koltsovo customs officers in recent weeks. In total, more than 6 million rubles were attempted to be exported through the checkpoint in Koltsovo

A citizen of Tajikistan tried to export the most money. He tried to take 2.5 million rubles to Khujand. The amount authorized for export was given to the man, while 1.5 million, exceeding the limit of export without declaration, remained in storage until the court decision. All violators face fines ranging from half to twice the amount of the seized funds

Crossing the customs border without declaring cash is possible if the amount does not exceed 10 thousand dollars. And we are talking about any currency equivalent. It does not matter whether you are carrying rubles, euros, yuan or any other currency – its amount should not exceed the dollar equivalent at the current exchange rate. Such rules apply only to cash, there are no restrictions on the export of money on bank cards,” said Sergey Borovik, head of the customs post at Koltsovo Airport (passenger)
