Tatarstan customs on the protection of intellectual property rights

One of the functions of the customs authorities is to protect the rights on intellectual property objects in the customs territory of the Eurasian economic Union. Measures to protect the rights of copyright holders are accepted within the competence of customs authorities in respect of objects of copyright and related rights, on trademarks, service marks and appellations of origin of goods.

Together with the Ministry of internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in Naberezhnye Chelny have been over 500 compressors, packages and labels, marked trademarks of “KAMAZ”. Product samples are directed for carrying out expert studies.

In the course of the field customs inspection in respect of the two individual entrepreneurs from the city of Naberezhnye Chelny, the officials of the Department of customs control after release of goods seized 321 a pair of shoes, labeled trademarks Adidas, Nike, Reebok, having signs of the counterfeit. The materials are transferred to Kamsky transport office of public Prosecutor, the planned initiation of criminal cases on signs of the crime under part 1 of article 180 of the criminal code.

Also as a result of customs control in respect of goods sent by international mail, 885 of them were 12 740 units identified by rights holders as counterfeit. Often counterfeit products are parts and components of cars, designers, dolls, toys. The largest number of counterfeit accounts for the designers trademark Lego, Ninjago, Friends, Nexo, Knight.
