A senior mechanic made a mistake on 32 tons of diesel fuel and motor oil

In the course of joint control on a motor ship departing to Turkey from the port of Azov, officers of Rostov Customs and the Border Guard Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Rostov region revealed a discrepancy between the actual amount of fuel and the amount declared by the carrier.

The regular fuel tanks contained 31 tons more diesel fuel than declared. More than 1 ton of undeclared motor oil was also found.

The head of the customs post of the Sea Port Azov of Rostov Customs Viktor Kirdeev explained: “According to the results of customs control in relation to the carrier initiated a case of administrative offense under part 1 of article 16.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation “Failure to declare in the prescribed form of goods subject to customs declaration. This article provides punishment for legal entities in the form of a fine from one second to two times the value of the goods (with or without confiscation)

Samples of undeclared goods have been sent to an expert forensic laboratory to establish the value.
