Pskov customs: a criminal case in 73 million rubles
Pskov customs office opened a criminal case on the fact of illicit movement of tobacco products, the responsibility for which is stipulated by part 1 of article 200.2 of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation.
From the customs territory of the Eurasian economic Union through the customs post MAPP Burachki on the Russian-Latvian border, the carrier tried to take in the composition of heavy vehicles over 10 tons of tobacco products disguised as product cover “chips and briquettes”. 899600 packs of cigarettes produced in the Republic of Belarus, identified by sniffer dogs, trained to search for tobacco products.
The market value of the discovered tobacco products, amounted to more than 73.5 million rubles, which is a large size. The sanction of article prescribes punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term up to five years for committing smuggling of tobacco products in the large size.
Currently on the specified criminal case the Pskov customs held urgent investigative actions.
