An underwater drone was detained by customs officers on the Russian-Estonian border

A unmanned underwater vehicle was seized by Kingisepp customs officers at the Ivangorod checkpoint. A 50-year-old stateless man living in Estonia was trying to bring the device into Russia

When scanning the man’s briefcase, the inspector saw a technically complex construction with components inside. It turned out to be an eight-rotor Chasing M2 drone with a Chinese-made wide-angle camera. According to the labeling, the product is a professional underwater drone.

A case of administrative offense was instituted under part 1 of article 16.2 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation (non-declaration of goods). The violator faces a fine and confiscation of goods
