On the situation on the Russian-Finnish border

From 21.00 on December 15, 2023 on the initiative of the Finnish authorities the checkpoints Vaalimaa (the adjacent checkpoint on the Russian side – IACP Torfyanovka of the Vyborg Customs) and Niirala (IACP Värtsilä of the Karelian Customs) located on the Finnish-Russian border are closed again. The decision is valid until January 14, 2024 
Since the opening of traffic, since midnight on December 14, 232 trucks (125 – entered the Russian Federation, 107 left –), 1615 cars (865 and 750 respectively), 40 buses (16 – entered the Russian Federation, 24 left –), 3797 individuals (1846 and 1951 respectively) have passed through the customs checkpoint Torfyanovka of the Vyborg customs, working round the clock.  
24   cargo vehicles (1 cargo vehicle to leave the Russian Federation, 23 cargo vehicles to enter the Russian Federation), 1138 passenger cars (594 – leaving the Russian Federation, 544 – entering the Russian Federation), 1712 individuals (802 – leaving the Russian Federation, 910 – entering the Russian Federation) passed through the customs checkpoint Vyartsilya of the Karelian Customs.
